EyePal Calculator

Precision fitting tools for EyePal Scleral lens systems. Determine exact lens parameters quickly and confidently.

EyePal Scleral Calculator

A purpose-built online fitting tool to guide you to the optimal first-fit parameters for every EyePal Scleral Lens patient.

Scleral Calculator

For keratoconus, irregular corneas, dry eye, and OSD fitting

The Scleral Calculator guides practitioners through the complete parameter selection for EyePal Scleral lenses — from cornea style and design type through to base curve, diameter, power, and limbal lift.

  • 1
Select Cornea Style — Choose from 8 cornea variants based on patient diagnosis.
  • 2
Choose Design Type — Sphere, Front-Toric, Multifocal, or Toric-PC.
  • 3
Enter Measurements — Input corneal topography, refraction, and trial lens feedback.
  • 4
Get Parameters — The calculator outputs diameter, base curve, power, and lift values.

Before You Use the Calculator

Gather the right data to get the most accurate parameter recommendations.

Corneal Topography

Have a recent corneal topography map available. Keratometry readings, Kmax, and simulated K values are required for accurate parameter calculation.

Current Refraction

Record the patient’s current spectacle or contact lens refraction and best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) before entering the calculator.

Scleral Topography

For complex cases, anterior segment OCT or scleral profilometry data will help the calculator optimise the landing zone configuration.

Patient History

Document previous lens wear history, any surgical interventions (crosslinking, DALK, PK), and current ocular surface status before fitting.

Trial Lens Feedback

After applying a trial lens, observe fluorescein fit, check clearance, centration, and movement before entering over-refraction data into the calculator.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an account to use the EyePal Calculator?
The calculator is accessed via avtcalculator.com/eyepal. Please visit the site directly or contact our team for access credentials if required for your region.
How accurate are the calculator’s starting parameters?
The calculators are designed to produce highly accurate first-fit parameters that minimise chair time. In most cases, the calculated parameters result in a lens requiring minimal or no modification. However, clinical judgement and in-chair over-refraction should always be used to confirm the final prescription.
What topography data do I need before using the calculator?
For best results, have a recent corneal topography map with keratometry readings, Kmax value, apex location, and simulated K values. The patient’s current refraction and BCVA are also required. Scleral profilometry is beneficial for complex cases.
Can I get support if I’m having difficulty fitting?
Absolutely. Our clinical team with 50+ years of combined experience is available to provide remote fitting support. Contact us via the Contact page with your patient data and we will guide you through the fitting process.
