What Is the EyePal Scleral Lens?

The EyePal Scleral Lens is a rigid gas-permeable (RGP) scleral contact lens designed to vault entirely over the cornea and land on the conjunctiva overlying the sclera. This landing zone geometry creates a stable, sealed fluid reservoir beneath the lens — filling the optical irregularities of the cornea with saline to produce a smooth, uniform refracting surface.

The result is dramatically clearer vision — what EyePal calls HD Vision — combined with outstanding all-day comfort, even for patients with severe dry eye or ocular surface disease.

At 14.8–15.7 mm in diameter, the Scleral bridges the gap between traditional corneal RGP lenses and full-size scleral lenses, offering optical superiority with easier handling for a broad range of patients.

Any Corneal Condition, Covered

The EyePal Scleral Lens is available in variants covering any corneal condition — from routine presentations to the most complex cases.

Normal

Standard prolate corneal shape for scleral comfort and visual stability.

Irregular

Non-specific irregularity not classified under standard diagnostic categories.

Keratoconus

Central or paracentral corneal cone — the primary indication for Scleral.

Pellucid

Pellucid Marginal Degeneration with inferior peripheral corneal thinning.

Post-Surgical

Corneas altered by LASIK, PRK, RK, corneal transplants or crosslinking.

Dry Eye Syndrome

The fluid reservoir beneath the lens provides constant moisture, ideal for DES.

SJS

Stevens-Johnson Syndrome causing severe ocular surface damage and symblepharon.

OSD

Ocular Surface Disease — including neurotrophic keratitis and GVHD.

4 Optical Configurations

Select the design that best addresses the patient’s refractive needs alongside their corneal condition.

S

Sphere

Standard spherical power correction. Used when the tear-lens fully corrects residual astigmatism.

FT

Front-Toric

Front-surface toric to correct residual astigmatism not neutralised by the saline reservoir.

MF

Multifocal

Simultaneous vision design for presbyopic patients needing both near and distance correction.

TP

Toric-PC

Toric posterior peripheral curve providing a stabilised landing zone for consistent orientation.

Full Parameter Range

The Scleral is fully customisable. Parameters are tailored to each individual patient using the EyePal Scleral Lens Calculator.

Who Is the Scleral For?

The EyePal Scleral Lens is indicated for patients whose vision cannot be adequately corrected with spectacles, soft contact lenses, or conventional RGP lenses.

01

Keratoconus Patients

All stages of keratoconus, from early-onset to advanced, including nipple, oval and globus cones.

02

Dry Eye & OSD

Patients with severe dry eye, SJS, GVHD, or neurotrophic keratitis needing continuous corneal hydration.

03

Post-Surgical Corneas

Irregular astigmatism following LASIK, PRK, RK, corneal graft or crosslinking procedures.

04

Irregular Astigmatism

Any corneal condition producing high or irregular astigmatism that standard lenses cannot correct.
